The Story of Ocha House

2012 - The First Leaves

We steeped our first batch of hand-picked Darjeeling, sourcing directly from a family estate in India. The floral aroma and golden liquor convinced us - this would become Ocha House's signature style. A humble beginning with just 3 tea varieties in paper pouches.

2015 - The Jasmine Revolution

After discovering a rare white jasmine tea in Fujian, we introduced our now-iconic Moonlight Jasmine blend. Customers adored the delicate balance of sweet petals and crisp green tea. Our first 100kg sold out in 3 weeks.

2018 - Tea Terroir Explored

We launched single-estate tasting kits, showcasing how altitude changes Assam's maltiness. The Nepal Black from 2,200m became an instant favorite with its honeyed notes. This was the year we truly became terroir specialists.

2020 - The Ceremonial Shift

Inspired by Kyoto tea masters, we started hosting traditional matcha ceremonies. Our stone-ground Uji matcha developed a cult following for its creamy umami depth. The ceremonial grade now accounts for 40% of sales.

Everything in the shop has a history. One of our chandeliers dates back to the worlds fair in Philadelphia. If only our vintage teacups and teapots could talk, the stories they would tell.
